Administrative Assistant - Full Time

General Description

The Assistant to the Executive Team is responsible for supporting the Executive Team in the
performance of his duties including weekend service planning and design, marketing and
communication, as well as management of the Executive Team’s calendar, correspondence
(voicemail, e-mail, regular mail, etc.), website(s), speaking engagements, and travel. The
Assistant to the Executive Team is the primary contact person for the Executive Team on all
matters requiring his/her attention.

Essential Job Functions

  • Administrate the planning and design of weekly adult worship services in support of the
    Executive Team and Teaching Team.
  • Establishes internal communication procedures to support the Senior Pastor.
  • Implements, arranges and participates in conferences, workshops and meetings as
    directed by the Senior Pastor.
  • Responsible for the composition of public relations materials for the Senior Pastor and
    other collateral materials for the church as assigned (i.e., weekly bulletin, newsletter,
    personal bios, etc.)
  • Manage the development, production, and distribution of all forms of church marketing
    materials (direct mail pieces, signs and banners, flyers, brochures, logos, etc.) as
    directed by the Executive Team.
  • Setup and maintain filing systems as needed to ensure easy access to important
    information.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a resource management tool (book text, magazine and
    newspaper articles, etc.) in support of sermon development and authorship of articles,
    books, and other publications.
  • Research, edit, and distribute sermons, articles, manuscripts, and other written material
    produced by the Executive Team.
  • Maintain personal websites for the Executive Team including content updates, e-mail
    processing, Blog posting, and other activities as directed.
  • Manage the Executive Team’s calendar functioning as the primary contact person for
    meetings and other scheduled commitments.
  • Manage all forms of correspondence including voicemail, e-mail, and regular mail.
  • Make travel arrangements and coordinate speaking engagement logistics.
  • Manage spending to budget for the Executive Team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Role Requirements

  • Must be a Christian with an “up and to the right” character (1 Timothy 3; Titus 1)
  • Must embrace our church’s doctrinal position and constitution without reservation and be
    an advocate of our philosophy of ministry both in public and in private
  • Must be the husband of one and only one wife; the same for your wife (1 Timothy 3:1-7)
  • Must embrace a work philosophy of strategic planning and delivering biblically-appropriate,
    God-honoring outcomes
  • Must have a demonstrated track record of building effective lay teams to do the work of the
    ministry (Ephesians 4)

Education and Experience

This position requires a minimum of 5 to 7 years experience as an executive/administrative
assistant in a church or business environment. Some amount of team leadership experience is
also a plus. Possession of an AA/BA Degree in Business or related field is preferred. The
successful individual will also possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, database, web
configuration/maintenance, and other related applications.
